At present, SMM – Sociedade de Montagens Metalomecânicas SA, is, in Portugal, one of the largest and most respected companies dedicated to the mechanical assembling of industrial equipment and installations, with a wide experience and excellent reputation among the European companies in the large contracts business area.
SMM was founded more than 20 years ago by some of the oldest Portuguese engineering companies, namely MOMPOR, from CUF Group, and Construtora Moderna from SOREFAME Group. The mechanical assembling divisions of SEPSA and MAGUE, then belonging to the ABB Group, were added later.
